  6. This is pretty great. A depiction of how Jeff Mangum (of Neutral Milk Hotel) describes Anne Frank in "holland, 1945"....

  8. joke? right? this is a tribute to the innocence of Anne Frank and the wonderful Jeff Mangum of Neutral Milk Hotel. In the Aeroplane Over the Sea was written in 1998 and became a cult favorite release from NMH. Mangum was inspired by the tragedy of Anne Frank and it resonates though out the album. The flowers in her eyes allude to lyrics from Holland, 1945. The opening is "The only girl I've ever loved was born with roses in her eyes but then they buried her alive one evening, 1945..." The white roses in her eyes allude to the white rose movement, a Jewish resistance to the third reich. This tattoo is beautiful aesthetically and in everything that it symbolizes. Whoever has this tattoo is a babe and I would love you to email me at hollande1945@gmail.com

  9. Yes, this tattoo is on me, and to all who got the reference, you're right: it IS a tribute to Anne Frank and to Neutral Milk Hotel, based on In the Aeroplane Over the Sea.
Thanks for the kind words to those who got it, and to the rest, go listen to this album.
